A synchronized operator pair for lifting and rotating heavy workpieces, with a total capacity of 40,000 kg, designed to integrate as an additional robot axis in automated welding cells.
What it does
The unit holds a heavy workpiece between two synchronized heads, lifting and rotating it — bringing every weld seam into the optimal position. Integrated as an external axis via PROFINET, its motion is coordinated with the robot’s axes: the workpiece rotates while the robot follows the seam, in a single continuous motion.
Why it matters in defense and shipbuilding fabrication
Heavy workpieces — armored hull sections, turret substructures, shipbuilding bases — are where position determines everything. Weld them fixed in place, and the robot works in compromised positions. Put them on a synchronized unit, and every seam is presented in the flat position — the position for which the procedure was qualified. Consistent position = consistent, repeatable, qualifiable quality.
