Description
DEMMELER 24-Ton Rotation Unit
DEMMELER 24-Ton Rotation Unit
Synchronized manipulator pair for lifting and rotating heavy workpieces, total load capacity 24,000 kg, designed to be integrated as an additional robot axis in automated welding cells.
What it does
The unit holds a heavy workpiece between two synchronized heads, lifts it and rotates it — bringing every weld seam into the optimal position. Integrated as an external axis via PROFINET, its motion is coordinated with the robot’s axes: the workpiece rotates while the robot follows the seam, in a single continuous motion.
Why it matters in defense and shipbuilding fabrication
Heavy workpieces — armored hull sections, turret substructures, shipbuilding bases — are where positioning determines everything. Weld them in a fixed position, and the robot works in compromised postures. Place them on a synchronized unit, and every seam is presented in a flat position, in the position for which the procedure was qualified. Stable position = consistent, repeatable, certifiable quality.
Key points
- Total load capacity 24,000 kg
- Synchronized manipulator pair, lifting and rotation
- Integrated as an external robot axis via PROFINET
- Continuous coordinated motion with the welding robot
- Presents heavy workpieces in a flat position for consistent quality
Integration and support
We integrate Demmeler positioning equipment with robotic welding cells and EWM power sources, with local support in Greece.

Demmeler
Demmeler is German-engineered welding automation built as a system: 3D modular welding tables, clamping components, welding manipulators, robot turning units and cobot cells that work together — not as separate machines, but as one repeatable, documented fabrication environment. Why Demmeler for certified and defence fabrication
The difference between Demmeler and a standalone positioner is the word "system". A Demmeler fixture, built from indexed components on a precision 3D table, sets up identically every shift. A Demmeler turning unit integrates as an external robot axis via PROFINET, so the part and the welding robot move as one. A Demmeler cobot cell automates the repeat welds that never justified a full line. For defence, naval and classification-supervised production — where every weldment must be qualifiable, repeatable and documented — that repeatability is not a convenience. It is the requirement.Integrated, supported, local
Roussakis Supplies integrates Demmeler handling with EWM welding sources and the EWM XNET Welding 4.0 platform for weld-by-weld traceability.
