Description
SIDEROS RotoLift® 3-Axis Welding Positioner
SIDEROS RotoLift® 3-Axis Welding Positioner
The RotoLift® is a hydraulic three-axis positioner and manipulator for assembly and welding. It does what most positioners don’t:
beyond tilting and rotating the workpiece, it also raises and lowers it. Three axes — lift, rotate, tilt — in one patented
machine.
Why it matters in defense and shipbuilding fabrication
Armored hulls, turrets, shipyard blocks and heavy bases have one thing in common: they are difficult workpieces. Either the welder works in position — overhead, vertical, at an angle — or the workpiece is moved by crane between every pass. Both routes come at a cost.
Positional welding costs you in certification. Every welding position you use is a position that must be qualified: more WPS, more WPQR, more welder certifications, longer time to first article on a new program. The RotoLift enables flat-position welding throughout the entire assembly.
Crane handling costs you in time and safety. Every lift is a stopped weld seam, a rigging job, a controlled-risk event. The RotoLift takes the crane out of the welding cycle.
Result
- Reduced part-handling time
- Less dependence on conventional lifting equipment
- Safer, more ergonomic working environment
- Lifting, tilting and rotating in one machine
- Improved and more consistent weld quality
- Simplified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Fast return on investment
- Patented three-axis design
Integration
We integrate Sideros positioners with EWM welding power sources and the EWM XNET Welding 4.0 platform: seam-by-seam traceability, paperless WPS/WPQR
management, real-time deviation detection.
We deliver, commission and provide local support anywhere in Greece.

Sideros Engineering
Roussakis Supplies is the official partner of Sideros Engineering in Greece. Sideros Engineering designs and manufactures welding automation, industrial fume and dust extraction, and sheet metal handling systems at its facility in Italy. The range is built for heavy fabrication — the kind of work where the weldment is too large to move by hand, the plate is too heavy to lift safely, and the fume and dust generated are a documented occupational and explosion risk. Why Sideros for defence and naval fabrication
Defence and naval manufacturing in Greece is moving fast — armoured vehicle programmes, naval newbuilding and refit, and lightweight aluminium structures. All three create the same three problems on the shop floor: awkward weldments, hazardous atmospheres, and welding procedures that must be qualified, repeatable and documented.Sideros equipment addresses each one directly:
Positioners bring the weld to the welder. Welding downhand instead of overhead or vertical means fewer welding positions, which means fewer qualified WPS, fewer WPQR, and faster qualification of a new programme. ATEX-rated extraction makes aluminium fabrication legally workable.Grinding and cutting aluminium produces a combustible dust with a hydrogen risk in wet collectors. This is not a comfort issue — it is ATEX 2014/34/EU and EN 60079 territory. Fume extraction is a compliance requirement, not an option.** Welding fume has been classified as a Group 1 human carcinogen since 2017. Extraction at source, per EN ISO 21904, is now the expected standard in any audited facility.Local engineering, not just supply
Sideros equipment is supplied through Roussakis Supplies with in-house capability behind it. We integrate positioners with EWM welding sources and the EWM XNET Welding 4.0 platform, giving weld-by-weld traceability, paperless WPS/WPQR management and real-time deviation detection — the documentation trail a defence or classification audit expects. We hold over 30,000 product codes with major brand access and ex-stock availability, in-house know-how for large turnkey welding and positioner projects, and local support for any project based in Greece.
