EcoR® is a dust collector built for one specific and serious problem: combustible aluminium dust.
The problem is not dirt. It is an explosion.
Aluminium dust from grinding, cutting, sanding or deburring is a combustible dust. Suspended in air at the right concentration and given an ignition source, it deflagrates. A standard industrial dust collector handling aluminium fines is not an inadequate machine — it is a pressure vessel waiting for a spark.
The risk compounds in wet collectors. Fine aluminium reacting with water liberates hydrogen. Hydrogen accumulating in the headspace of a collector is a second, faster explosion mechanism sitting on top of the first.
This is not a housekeeping question. It is ATEX 2014/34/EU, EN 60079 for explosive atmospheres, and EN 14491 for dust explosion venting.
Why this matters now in Greece
Naval superstructures, lightweight hull structures and aluminium armour applications are all growing in Greek defence and shipbuilding. Every one of them puts an angle grinder onto aluminium. Facilities that were built around steel are now processing aluminium on the same shop floor, often with the same extraction equipment. That gap is where incidents happen — and where an ATEX audit stops a programme.

Hydrogen suppression
Where the application requires a wet collector, EcoR® works with the Sideros SafeFlow® calcium carbonate dispenser, which meters CaCO₃ into the process water to suppress hydrogen generation from aluminium. The two are a system, not two accessories.
