The Vortex removes the coarse and hot fraction from the air stream before it reaches the main filter.
Two problems it solves
Filter cost
Coarse particles quickly blind a fine filter. If you’re changing main filters on a short cycle, you’re not filtering — you’re consuming filters as a wear item. The cyclone removes the heavy fraction upstream by inertia, with no media and no replacement.
Spark risk.
Grinding and cutting send hot particles into the ductwork. A hot particle on a dry filter cake is a fire inside a dust collector — exactly the event the Explosion Protection Document was written to prevent.
