An austenitic stainless steel electrode producing weld metal with less than 5% ferrite content. The hard weld metal offers excellent crack resistance, even when welding steels with very poor weldability. Suitable for joining 12–14% manganese steel to itself or to other steels, as well as for buffer layers prior to hardfacing.
