ESAB OK Tigrod 5356 is the most widely used aluminium TIG filler rod, an AlMg5 general-purpose alloy. It is typically chosen for its relatively high shear strength and clean, consistent performance.
Ideal for welding 5xxx and 6xxx series aluminium alloys, it is a standard choice for aluminium shipbuilding, tanks, bodywork and general aluminium fabrication.
NOTE (technical): With a weld pool chemistry above 3% Mg and service temperatures above 65°C, the alloy is susceptible to stress corrosion cracking. It is non-heat treatable.
