VORTEX takes the coarse and hot fraction out of the airstream before it ever reaches the main filter.
Two problems it solves
Filter cost.
Coarse particles blind a fine filter fast. If your main filters are being changed on a short cycle, you are not filtering — you are consuming filter media as a wear part. A cyclone strips the heavy fraction upstream by inertia, with no media and nothing to replace.
Spark risk.
Grinding and cutting send hot particles down the duct. A hot particle landing in a dry filter cake is a fire in a dust collector — the exact event your explosion protection document is written to prevent. The cyclone separates and quenches the heavy hot fraction before it reaches combustible media.
Where it belongs
Any grinding, cutting or deburring line where the main collector is a dry filter unit, and any installation where an ignition-source assessment has flagged hot particle carryover.
