Austenitic stainless steel filler metal suitable for welding base metals such as AISI 316, AISI 316L. Equivalent to ER 316L, except for a higher silicon content. This improves arc stability, weld pool fluidity and bead appearance. If dilution from the base metal results in a low-ferrite or fully austenitic weld deposit, the weld’s susceptibility to hot cracking is higher than that of a weld metal with lower Si content. It therefore guarantees better corrosion resistance than ER 308LSi.
Solid, low-carbon wire for welding stainless steel with 19% chromium, 12% nickel and 2-3% molybdenum, for temperatures up to 400°C. The high silicon content allows good arc stability and achieves good weld appearance with low spatter.
Used in pipe manufacturing, cladding and pressure vessels, shipbuilding, marine and saline environments. Good general corrosion resistance and resistance to intergranular corrosion against acidic substances.
For use under Ar (98%) O2 (2%) shielding gas.
