Source capture only works if the capture point is where the fume is. A fixed hood on a long weld is a fixed hood that is wrong for most of the weld. The welder either stops to reposition the arm \u2014 which they will not, every time \u2014 or works outside the capture envelope and the exposure figure in your assessment stops matching reality.<\/p>\n
SyncroMatic moves the capture point along the table with the operation. The fume is taken at source across the whole working length, without depending on the welder to move anything.<\/p>\n
