Held annually since 2008 and supported by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, the Efkranti Awards have become a fixed point of reference for the Greek shipping family. Winners are chosen by a broad-based jury representing maritime scholarship, academic research and specialised journalism. The award takes its name from Efkranti, one of the fifty Nereids of Greek mythology \u2014 the sea-nymph who symbolises the safe voyage of seafarers and the calming of stormy waves. The guiding principle is simple: “We honour those who honour our shipping.”<\/p>\n

The 18th edition brought together shipowners, managers, brokers, agents, classification societies, flag registries, technology providers and suppliers under one roof, held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Shipping of the Republic of Cyprus, with Accelleron as main sponsor and SWIFT as reception sponsor.
